How to Create a Lock Computer Shortcut

In this tutorial, we will teach you how to create a lock computer shortcut in Windows 7. Follow these simple steps:-

1. Right click anywhere on the desktop, place your mouse cursor over “New” and click on “Shortcut”, when the sub-menu of “New” opens.
2. As a result, the “Shortcut” window will appear. Paste the location of the item in the desired text field. Here’s the location: “rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation”. Click “Next”. In this step, enter any name for this shortcut. Click “Finish”.
3. You can also change the icon of this created shortcut if you want. For this, right click on the newly created shortcut and click on “Properties”. Click on “Change icon…” button. Change the file location from “C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe” to “C:\Windows\System32\shall32.dll”. Hit “Enter”. List of icons will appear, where you have to select only one out of these. When chosen, click on OK. Click on “Apply” and then click on OK.to save the settings.
Double click on the newly created shortcut and your computer will be locked.
